Rolls Royce Silver Shadow Cars

The Silver Shadow is another product released by Rolls Royce in its aim to produce and make available luxury cars for the people. The whole production of Rolls Royce spanned from 1965 to 1980. The Silver Shadow I, its first version, started production on the 1965 but eventually replaced by the Silver Shadow II on the year 1977. The line was the first for Roll-Royce to use monocoque chassis. It is a construction technique that uses structural load by using an object's external skin as opposed to using an internal frame.

With the launch of the Silver Shadow, it replaced its predecessor, the Silver Cloud and had brought modern appearance to the car. It has introduced a lot new features such as the disc breaks, monocoque construction and independent rear suspension with automatic level. It was very innovative at the time of the launch. Some of the advantages it offered then was it allowed more room for the passengers, easier access for stowing luggage and has greatly reduced weight and height for a car.

The collection comes in different variants with each specification suiting individual preferences. There was the Silver Shadow II which brought notable changes as rack and pinion steering and modifications to the front suspension resulting in improved handling. Another variant was the Bentley T model. It was almost identical except for the badging and design of the radiator shell. This version was available in two-door and four-door saloon.

Stunningly, the Silver Shadow remains to be the most successful line ever built by Rolls Royce. With this, considering the expensive value of the car is greatly an achievement indeed and reflection of the value for money buyers can get.
